Vai'Ute'Ute Lodge is a family-run guesthouse located in Raiatea, at the foot of Mount Temehani Ute’Ute, a sacred and botanical landmark of the island, home to the legendary Tiare Apetahi, a unique endemic flower.
Set on a lush property, the lodge features a coconut grove with fruit hanging low to the ground, as well as plantations of vanilla, banana trees, lemon trees, papaya trees, and avocado trees. Depending on the season, fresh fruits from these trees are served at breakfast, offering guests an authentic local experience.
Guests can enjoy bicycles provided to explore the surroundings at their own pace. Activities related to vanilla cultivation are also offered, providing a unique educational immersion into this emblematic local production.
The lodge offers two air-conditioned bungalows for guests, each equipped with a queen-size bed, an extra bed, a private bathroom, a refrigerator, a wardrobe, Wi-Fi access, and a television.
The main bungalow, occupied by the manager, includes an open kitchen and opens onto a saltwater pool. A wooden deck borders the pool, providing a pleasant space to enjoy the homemade breakfast, prepared each morning by the manager and included in the rate, with an unobstructed view of Mount Temehani.
Laundry service is available for guests, including washing, drying, and folding, at a rate of 1,000 XPF per kilo.
In a family-friendly, peaceful, and authentic atmosphere, Vai'Ute'Ute Lodge is an ideal place to stay for travelers seeking tranquility, nature, and Polynesian culture. Its privileged location allows easy access to hiking trails leading to Temehani and exploration of the sacred island of Raiatea.
