The Fataua valley lies between Pirae and Papeete. The valley begins at the gate of Polynésienne des Eaux, Papeete's drinking water concessionaire. A 3-kilometer path leads to the Fachoda bridge. It's an easy, shady route, ideal for outings with family or friends. There's also an easily accessible "marae" along the way. After the Fachoda bridge, the hike becomes more difficult.
