Since 2018, Tahiti Tourisme has been conducting a vast local awareness campaign to strengthen the understanding and support of all Polynesians for tourism development. Now more than ever, the aim is to remind people that tourism is an essential force for the future of our fenua, while ensuring that it is inclusive, responsible and beneficial to the population as a whole.
Our actions aim to :
- Increase awareness of the role of tourism: explain what tourism really is, its importance to our economy and its positive influence on many sectors of the country.
- Inspire and develop young people: highlight local experiences and initiatives in order to encourage vocations and show the diversity of jobs in the sector.
- Putting Polynesians at the heart of the experience: recognising that the natural, warm and authentic welcome of our people is one of Tahiti & Her Islands‘ greatest assets. Everyone contributes, at their own level, to raising the profile of our destination.
On the ground, this campaign is being rolled out through a variety of actions carried out by Tahiti Tourisme or in collaboration with the country’s institutions, in order to mobilise all communities and encourage inclusive and sustainable tourism.
