The long-awaited event for tourism industry professionals and the local population, the Tere ‘Ai’a Tourism Fair, is back for its 29th edition. The Tourism Fair will be held from Friday 30 September to Sunday 2 October 2022 at the Parc Expo in Mama’o.

Published on 21 September 2022

Initially scheduled for 2, 3 and 4 September, the event has been postponed. A number of players in the sector have expressed the wish to postpone the show, as many tourist accommodations are already well booked in September.

The Tourism Fair, which usually takes place on the first weekend of February and September, is a must-attend event for the tourism industry, where residents can take advantage of promotional offers, preferential rates and good deals on accommodation, transport and activities to prepare their trips to the islands.

After a return to face-to-face events with the February 2022 edition, it was with great enthusiasm that the Tahiti Tourisme teams orchestrated the organisation of this new edition.

A new face-to-face edition

For this 29th edition, and as usual, a number of exhibitors from the 5 archipelagos will be on hand to welcome visitors during the 3-day Tourism Fair. For visitors, this event is an opportunity to meet the Polynesian tourism players from the outlying islands and talk directly to them about the promotional offers they will be putting on for the occasion.

The riches of the Tuamotu Islands will be on show at the Parc Expo in Mamao. A number of new features will also be on show, including a flight simulator and new exhibitors taking part in the Tourism Fair for the first time, such as the Hei O Kauehi and Kena Family guesthouses.

For its first participation, the Hilton Hôtel Tahiti has planned special offers for overnight stays or one of the hotel’s three restaurants, which are now open. To mark the occasion, the resort has set up a virtual queuing system, which will allow visitors to be notified by text message when their turn comes. It’s a digital innovation that will save precious time for visitors curious to discover what the resort has to offer!

For the first time, the Aranui will also be offering a 5-day cruise to the Tuamotus. The cruise will run from 28 April to 2 May. The cruise will dock on the islands of Makatea and Anaa and end in Tautira before anchoring again in the port of Papeete.

This year’s edition will also give residents the opportunity to pre-book their Air Tahiti tickets online, prior to the opening of the Tourism Fair, to facilitate access to the Air Tahiti stand and save time for visitors. As usual, plane tickets will be up for grabs in a prize draw for travel to the islands with Air Tahiti.

Tourism fair offers available online

To get a preview of what’s on offer at the Tourism Fair ahead of the opening, residents will be able to consult the tourist offers proposed by tourism professionals on the Tahiti Tourisme website at www.SalonduTourisme.pf from Monday 26 September. To book accommodation or activities, they will have to wait until Friday 30 September to visit the exhibitors’ stands.

Offers on Air Tahiti tickets will be available and pre-bookable on www.airtahiti.pf from Monday 26 September. Tickets will be available for confirmation on the Air Tahiti stand from September 30 to October 2 at the Mamao Parc Expo.

There will be a special queue for people who have pre-booked their tickets online, to make the confirmation process easier and to reduce the flow of visitors to the show. The detailed procedure can be found below.

Accommodation, activities, transport...

Preparing your stay in the islands

Over 200 exhibitors will be on hand to present their products and services. Accommodation, transport and activity providers from the 5 archipelagos will be offering exceptional deals.Hotels, small family hotels, land and water-based activities, transport… a wide range of tourism players will be on hand to meet the public and present their activities.

There will be no significant changes to the February 2022 edition, with a slightly higher number of exhibitors.

We’re expecting 15,000 visitors, which is 3,000 more than in February 2022. The fact that sanitary measures are no longer in force will certainly make it easier to welcome exhibitors and the public over the 3 days of the Show.

Tīteti 'Āi'a not cumulative

with offers from the tourism fair

Introduced in 2021 to support domestic tourism, the Tīteti ‘Āi’a scheme encourages residents to travel to the islands by offering a travel voucher that contributes financially to the expenses of the stay, including payment for various tourist services.

However, bookings will have to be made outside the period of the Show, i.e. between 1 November 2022 and 31 December 2022.

Air Tahiti, a long-standing partner

As usual, Air Tahiti, the historic and key partner in this operation, will be offering its services over a possible travel period between 1 October 2022 and 30 March 2023.

For 30 years, Air Tahiti has been a pioneer in the development of tourism integrating local populations in more than 20 destinations. The local airline is therefore delighted to be present once again at the Salon du Tourisme – Tere Ai’a in partnership with Tahiti Tourisme. The teams will be working hard to offer the best deals to visitors to the Tourism Fair, who will be able to discover or rediscover our islands.
