Ajouter aux favoris

As part of the definition of French Polynesia’s tourism strategy (2020-2027) Fāri’ira’a Manihini 2027, which is resolutely geared towards the development of Inclusive & Sustainable Tourism, Tahiti Tourisme conducted a survey of the various players in the tourism industry (private and public) in order to list the local initiatives already in place and offering solutions for responsible travel.

A strategic vision for the future

The Fāri’ira’a Manihini 2027 strategy marks a decisive turning point for French Polynesia. By placing people and the environment at the heart of its development, Tahiti Tourisme is committed to an inclusive and sustainable tourism model. This ambitious roadmap aims to preserve the beauty of our archipelagos while ensuring prosperity shared by all.

Co-construction with local players

To build this responsible future, a large-scale survey was carried out among public and private players in the industry. This collaborative approach has made it possible to list the initiatives that already exist in the field. By uniting the country’s driving forces, we are creating a collective dynamic capable of transforming the face of our flagship sector over the long term.

Promoting grassroots initiatives

The digital document “Towards Inclusive & Sustainable Tourism” lists practical solutions for travelling differently. From resource management to the protection of biodiversity, each project bears witness to the resilience and inventiveness of our islands. These inspiring examples now serve as the basis for promoting an exemplary and ethical destination.

A tool for international influence

Our international offices use these standards to meet the expectations of the media and travellers from all over the world. By sharing our progress in terms of sustainability, we are positioning Tahiti & Her Islands as a responsible destination. This transparent communication enhances the attractiveness of our country.

Inclusion at the heart of hospitality

Inclusive tourism ensures that the benefits of this activity go directly to the local population. It encourages authentic encounters and respect for Polynesian ways of life. By making the visitor a conscious guest, we can ensure that the social ties that bind us are maintained and that our values of generosity, the pillars of our Ma’ohi identity, are passed on.

Preserving our heritage for tomorrow

Responsible travel in Tahiti & Her Islands means ensuring that future generations will be able to admire the same lagoons and mountains as we do. Every gesture counts in maintaining the balance of our ecosystems. By adopting these standards, we transform travel into a profound experience, respectful of the land and the soul of the people.
