4, 5 and 6 February 2022
Parc Expo de Mamao – Papeete

It’s the long-awaited event of the new year! Tourism industry professionals and the local population will finally be able to get together for the 28th Tere ‘Ai’a Tourism Fair, to be held from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 February at the Parc Expo de Mamao.

Following the cancellation of the last 3 face-to-face events (in September 2020, February 2021 and September 2021), the Tahiti Tourisme teams are confident in their ability to organise the most eagerly-awaited event of the new year.

As a reminder, the “Salons du Tourisme @distance” formula (September 2020 and February 2021) and the Titeti Ai’a travel voucher scheme introduced by Tahiti Tourisme in 2021 had helped to limit the consequences of the absence of face-to-face trade fairs, and enabled service providers to offer their products and services online.

This 28th edition is back in force, with new events (appendix 1) punctuating the three days of the Tourism Fair (see programme appendix 2), not forgetting the usual game to win plane tickets to the islands, in partnership with Air Tahiti.

Registration opened in December, and Tahiti Tourisme has decided to give its partners extra support by applying an additional 15% discount to all exhibitors on the usual stand prices.

Exhibitors are delighted to be able to welcome visitors face to face.

This return to normal will enable tourism professionals not only to fill their booking books, but above all to resume contact with local customers and thus optimise the visibility of their business, and resume a business that has been severely impacted during these months of health crisis.

Around 200 exhibitors will be on hand to welcome the local population to their stands (see appendix 3).

We note a slight drop in the number of exhibitors compared with February 2020. The main reasons for this are: the fact that some accommodation facilities are fully booked, air rotation problems (as in the case of the Marquesas), activities and facilities closed due to financial problems, fears of low visitor numbers due to the health pass, etc.

Despite this, we hope to welcome the same number of visitors as for the February 2020 edition, i.e. 18,000.

However, this drop will be offset by an increase in the number of activity providers in Tahiti and Moorea, new water and land-based activities and new exhibitors such as Van Away Tahiti, Tahiti Sail and Dive, Excellence yacht Tahiti, Hotel CONRAD Bora Bora, etc.

TITETI ‘AIA CANNOT BE COMBINED WITH TOURISM FAIR OFFERS
Introduced in 2021 to support domestic tourism, the Tīteti ‘Āi’a scheme encourages residents to travel to the islands by offering a travel voucher that contributes financially to the expenses of the stay, including payment for various tourist services.
Booking and stay periods during which the scheme applies:

A) Reservations will have to be made outside the periods of the Exhibition, i.e. :

– From 1 January to 31 January 2022 ;
– From 1st March 2022 to 31st August 2022;
– From 1st October 2022 to 31st December 2022;

B) Stays must take place between 1st January 2022 and 30th June 2022 or between 1st September 2022 and 31st December 2022.

AIR TAHITI, A LONG-STANDING PARTNER

Air Tahiti, a long-standing and important partner in this operation, will be taking part in this year’s event and, as usual, will be offering its products over a possible travel period between 5 February and 30 April 2022.

Air Tahiti, Te natiraa o te mau motu, the link between the islands, is delighted to be present once again at the Tere Ai’a tourism fair in partnership with Tahiti Tourisme. It’s a great opportunity for all our teams, who will be working hard to offer our products and services to visitors to the show, who will then be able to set off or return to discover our beautiful islands. A face-to-face show that will also offer the opportunity to pre-book remotely for those who wish to do so before coming to the show.

PRE-BOOKING POSSIBLE FROM 31 JANUARY 2022

Book between 31 January and 3 February 2022:
– directly on the Air Tahiti website, 24 hours a day,
– by telephone on 40 86 42 42,

Our teams will be waiting for you at the Air Tahiti stand, either to make your reservation or to validate your reservation made during the special pre-booking days.
As usual, accommodation must be booked and paid for at the show, before your plane tickets can be paid for and issued.

SUPER FARES AWAIT YOU

Health measures :

The exhibition will be organised under optimum conditions and, above all, in compliance with the health protection measures for exhibitors and visitors.

A health pass will therefore be required at the entrance for all visitors to the show.

A dedicated stand will be set up near the entrance for tests to be carried out as required, particularly for visitors who do not have a full vaccination schedule. This test will be at the visitor’s expense and will be billed at 990 XPF.

Exhibitors will be required to comply with the law on compulsory vaccination.

A few actions taken:
– A reception “SAS” was set up at the 3 entrances, with hostesses wearing masks and compulsory gloves to spray each visitor’s hands with hydro-alcoholic gel. A corridor for the entrance and a corridor for the exit.
– On the Air Tahiti stand, in order to respect the distance and better manage the reception capacity and the flow management, a direction of circulation will be set up with markings on the ground.
– The “relaxation” areas will become “safety” areas where visitors can wash their hands. A mobile brigade will tour the site to check masks and distribute gel;
– Visitors will need to bring their own masks, and if they forget any, masks will be handed out at the same time as the gel is applied at the entrances.

Appendix 1: NEW EVENTS AT THE FEBRUARY TOURISM FAIR

New at the show :

NAUTICAL CHARTER ACTIVITY: don’t miss the chance to discover nautical charter during your visit to the show.

During these open days for sailing yachts and catamarans at the Papeete quay, visitors will have the opportunity to climb aboard the boats on offer during the opening hours of the tourism show.

Tuk tuks are available to shuttle between the Jacques Chirac car park, Vaiete and the Mamao car park.

And always :
LEARNING AND DISCOVERING POLYNESIAN CULTURE:

An area under a marquee will be dedicated to the discovery of cultural traditions. A contemporary cultural art exhibition on the theme of stones and pebbles created by Nature and the hand of Man, an invitation to travel where visitors can discover the different destinations linked to these stones mentioned in legends (Moorea, Maupiti, Marquesas, Taha’a, Anaa, Makatea… etc). An invitation to discover the Polynesian world through its natural, cultural and legendary elements.

A PRO AREA is also available for personalised meetings between professionals.

A “WELL-BEING” AREA in a CLIMATIZED CONTAINER: Traditional well-being and massage will be present at the show. Visitors will be able to discover the benefits of our monoi in a real “cocoon”: white sand, the scent of Tiare, Frangipani, soft light: everything to invite them to relax and travel to our islands. Visitors will be able to discover the virtues and benefits of Polynesian massage: 4 taurumi rituals will be on show.

THE CHILD CARE STAND will be available, as it is at every show, to enable families to browse the many stands in peace and quiet. This year it will be located at the entrance to the village.

A PRESENTATION OF Tahiti Tourisme will be given to exhibitors on the first evening of the show, providing an opportunity to share information with them about current and future projects and initiatives, and to discuss their expectations and needs.

Tuesday 1 February 2022
Hilton Resort Hotel – Banqueting Room

Last year’s health crisis forced us to organise the Annual Conference remotely. This alternative solution nevertheless enabled us to maintain contact with the tourism industry during this period of health crisis. This year, the Tahiti Tourisme teams are more than happy to hold the Annual Conference in person. It’s an opportunity for us to get together with our partners from the Tahiti & Islands tourism industry family .

This year, Tahiti Tourisme’s Annual Conference will be held on Tuesday 1 February in the large banqueting room of the Hilton Tahiti hotel from 1pm to 5.30pm.

Tahiti Tourisme has 9 international representative offices and a team based at its head office in Papeete, promoting Tahiti Et Ses Iles in a total of 21 countries (20 international markets and 1 local market). Once a year, at its Annual Conference, the Group brings together its representatives to review the year to date, study market trends and opportunities, and present the marketing initiatives planned for the year ahead.

In addition to the presentations and speeches taking place on Tuesday 1 February, tourism industry professionals will also have the opportunity to meet Tahiti Tourisme’s international representatives for one-to-one meetings to discuss their needs and objectives together on the following day, Wednesday 2 February. For some of the Polynesian professionals, these meetings will extend to Thursday 3 February for exchanges with the Asian representatives based in Japan, China and South Korea (by videoconference only).

During this conference, the Tahiti Tourisme head office team will also be presenting the actions it has taken to develop the domestic market, the new actions undertaken as part of the 2022 awareness campaign, and the latest advances in the roll-out of its marketing strategy.

As for Tahiti Tourisme’s international representatives, they will take the audience on a 2-hour tour of the world, presenting their main actions and marketing direction for 2022.
This year’s international guest will also be Florian DAGRON, CEO of the We Like Travel agency in charge of content management for Tahiti Et Ses Îles’ social networks. He will be giving a presentation on the competitive analysis of Tahiti Et Ses Îles and its performance on social networks.

Please note:

– The Health Pass will be required to access this Annual Conference.
– Some presentations will be in English. Headsets will be available for simultaneous translation into French.
– A replay of the entire day will also be available on Tahiti Tourisme’s YouTube channel.
– Tahiti Tourisme will be offering a downloadable document on current trends, market by market, to help industry professionals define their objectives in the light of the global economic and competitive context. This conference is an opportunity to bring together all the professionals in the local and international tourism sector, the country’s institutions as well as the students who are the future of Fenua and potentially the future decision-makers, entrepreneurs and employees directly or indirectly linked to the tourism sector of tomorrow.

There will be no printed brochure for this annual conference, although it will be available in its entirety in digital form on its website. Please note that no plastic will be used for this unique event.

Tahiti Tourisme is committed to preserving the islands and wants to make this event an eco-responsible day. Several actions will be put in place to support this environmental aspect, firstly by reducing waste by inviting all participants to come to this annual conference equipped with a reusable water bottle, and water fountains will be made available to them.
