Tourism Fair - Tere 'Āi'a

This year marks the 31st edition of this flagship event, Le Salon du Tourisme – Tere ‘Āi’a.

Exhibitors from the 5 archipelagos will be welcoming visitors during the 3-day show. For the latter, this event is an opportunity to meet the Polynesian tourism players from the outlying islands and talk directly with them about the promotional offers they will be putting on for the occasion.

The Leeward Islands will also be on show, with the Society Islands archipelago taking pride of place at the Parc Expo in Mama’o. There will also be a number of new features, including an environmental action area, where visitors can meet associations working to protect Fenua, and an innovations and new technologies area showcasing start-ups in the tourism and cultural sectors.

    World Tourism Day

    Wednesday 27 September 2023 - Assembly of French Polynesia

    Tourism and green investment is the theme of World Tourism Day, which will take place on Wednesday 27 September 2023. To mark the occasion, the Tourism Department and Tahiti Tourisme are organising an open day in the hall of the Assembly of French Polynesia.

    The aim is to provide access to all the information you need to put your project into practice, take the necessary administrative steps and obtain public funding. During the morning, project owners and professionals in the sector will be able to meet with various departments, administrations and entities such as:

    • The Tourism Department, the Energy Department ;
    • The Economic Development Agency, the Directorate General of Economic Affairs, the Polynesian Directorate of Maritime Affairs, the Directorate of Youth and Sports, the Institute of Youth and Sports;
    • The Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Trades, PRISM – the Polynesian start-up incubator, the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME), the Société de Financement du Développement de la Polynésie française, Invest in Pacific, the Initiative Polynésie française network and the Federation of Environmental Protection Associations – Te Ora Naho.

    The tourism boards of Nuku Hiva, Fakarava, Teva i Uta, Moorea, Raivavae, Ua Huka, Rurutu, Tubuai and Huahine will also be taking part in the celebrations, offering a range of activities and hospitality.

    Tourist sites in Tahiti and Moorea will also be bustling with activity throughout the day, just a few hours apart. The Marapuru a Paraita market, the James Norman Hall Museum, the Tahiti and Islands Museum and the Pearl Museum will be offering free tours and traditional entertainment.

    The tourist sites managed by the Tourism Department will also be animated: the 3 Cascades, the Vaipahi Garden and the Tahua Ovini in Faa’a.

    For the occasion, a Facebook game will be organised, with participants having to answer a quiz and add the “World Tourism Day” decor, specially created for the occasion, to their profile photo. The lucky winner will receive a stay in a guesthouse in Teahupoo, a nautical excursion, an introduction to diving and a voucher for the next Tere nā Uta on 28 October 2023.

    Tourism will therefore be celebrated on Thursday 27 September, and project owners will be able to meet professionals from a variety of sectors, in order to bring their sustainable tourism projects to fruition.
