60th edition of Marquesas Island Exhibition.
The 60th Marquesas Islands Fair will take place from October 22 to November 1, 2026, on the Outumaoro plateaus, and as usual, Marquesan artisans will be out in force.
During these eleven days, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the original products and creations of each island, made with the utmost respect for tradition. These diverse handicrafts bear witness to the extraordinary creativity of the ancestral traditions of the Marquesas. The stands will feature tikis, penus, and 'ūmetes, precisely carved and sculpted from noble materials such as wood, bone, and flower stone, as well as tapa made from the bark of the breadfruit, banyan, or mulberry tree, and jewelry adorned with seeds.
Throughout the fair, the federation will also organize a multitude of activities, including musical performances, dance performances, kumu hei creation, seed necklace stringing, tapa painting, wood carving, and more. These events invite visitors to immerse themselves in the heart of Marquesan craftsmanship.
This 60th edition of the Salon des Marquises will be held from October 22 to November 1, 2026, on the Outumaoro plateaus from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The official opening will take place on Thursday, October 22, at 10 a.m.
