Mahana Pae is celebrated every first Friday of the month, unless otherwise specified (as on the day after the public holiday). Tahitian tiare flowers crowns made for tourists or locals arriving by plane at the airport awaken some of the senses and the emotion of being welcomed as a personality or invited after several hours' flight to set foot on Tahitian soil. The celebration of this day at the end of the year symbolizes the abundance of these flowers and the approach of the festive season, with the Fare Manihini (Tourism Office) fully decorated.
