A panoramic view of the bay of Matavai

The Belvédère du Tahara'a scenic viewpoint is in the hills above the municipality of Arue. It offers superb panoramic views over the island of Moorea and the bay of Matavai where the first European settlers disembarked. This was the site of the first meeting between the Maohi culture and western civilization.
