Sustainable Tourism Initiatives Competition

To mark World Day for Responsible Tourism on 2 June, Tahiti Tourisme is organising the “Sustainable Tourism Initiatives Competition”.

The aim of the “Sustainable Tourism Initiatives Competition” is to highlight the commitments and concrete actions in favour of more sustainable tourism carried out by professionals in the tourism sector in French Polynesia. It is in line with the country’s tourism development strategy – Fāri’ira’a Manihini 2027 (FM27) – and is in phase with the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), based on four pillars:

  • Sustainable management,
  • Socio-economic impact
  • Cultural impact,
  • Environmental impact.

On Monday 2 June 2025, Tahiti Tourisme honoured the winners of this 2nd edition at the awards ceremony held at Fare Manihini.

On Wednesday 5 June 2024, all the tourism operators who took part in the competition were invited to the awards ceremony at Tahiti Tourisme’s Fare Manihini, in the presence of the country’s official representatives, tourism partners and the winners.

In the end, the winners of the competition were announced: the Nani Travels travel agency, the Four Seasons hotel, the Taianapa Lodge guest house, The Brando hotel and the AOA Polynesian Forests association.
